Google Search vs Bing Search

Stop Ruining Search Results!

You had a good run Google Search,  but what you display on the 1st page of results these days has become an embarrassment to your past greatness. Do you remember when Google SERPs were reliable and useful for finding even the most obscure information about practically anything? You rarely had to leave the 1st page of results to find answers to your questions.

Google Search has really gone through some changes over the last year or so, but I can’t say its all for the better. Now Google seems satisfied with matching up completely unrelated info from websites that are so far off topic it is frustrating. Today I actually started reading the 5th page results, prior to trying another search engine. I’m sure Google will find its way back to greatness some day. In the meantime, I’ll find my info on the other top search engines.

Google search or Bing search?

Try it yourself:

I searched to find an automobile brake manufacturer whose obscure brand  I had heard about. Instead of finding the company information, I received multiple pages of Google ads for brake parts, results for bicycle shops and auto repair centers. I believe the search keywords were straight forward: ‘Hi-Stop Brake Company’.

Google returned results that had the search keywords spread around, but none for the company I was looking for. I had no choice but to use Bing. Guess what? The brake company was on Bing’s first page and listed 1st! And it turns out the brand I was looking for was built right into the URL – ‘hi-stop.com’. Pretty hard to miss, Google. Bing finally won me over! Shame on you Google.

Come on Google, you use to be so much better. What happened?
